Eligibility

Eligibility for the Master’s Program

There are no restrictions to the applicants’ undergraduate major.

Eligibility for the Doctoral Program

Application is open to graduates and prospective graduates of master’s programs in Korea and international graduate schools with similar curricula to this program. If the applicant earned a master’s degree in fine arts, they must satisfy the “B. Required Courses” and “C. Specific Major Courses” requirements specified in Paragraph 3-2-1 of the Regulation for Course Completion for the Master's Program.  

Admission Periods and Methods

Students can be admitted two times every year.

  • First-term Admission: Every early October to late November
  • Second-term Admission: Every late May to late June

- The detailed schedule is subject to change every year according to the university schedule. 

Admissions Requirements

- English (TEPS, TOEFL) (Used as qualification criteria)

Required English Scores for Application

  • TEPS = Minimum score of 298 for New TEPS (minimum score of 551 for Old TEPS)
  • TOEFL = Minimum score of IBT 79

- The TEPS scores are only valid for two years after the test day. (This regulation does not apply to passing TEPS scores earned when entering the program.) - Only the scores that have been taken within two years from the application deadline will be accepted.  
- Graduates (or prospective graduates) of universities (or graduate schools) in English-speaking countries are exempt from submitting their English scores.

- Applications will be judged based on the total score of the written examination on the major subject (100), interview and oral examination (including practical test, 50), and document review (50).

1) Letter of recommendation from a faculty member at the student’s former department

2) CV

3) Master’s and Doctoral Program: 15 to 20 or more personal research pieces (to be presented during the interview)

4) Doctoral Program: Applicants may replace their portfolio with their master’s thesis.
